Training

With the opening of the new clinic on Sydney Street the practice has reinstated its training accreditation. Dr Paul Lanham is the lead trainer with support from Dr John Scott. General Practice trainees or "Registrars" are qualified doctors who are carrying out their final training to become General Practitioners under supervision. These doctors are usually with the practice for six to twelve months. The practice has also recently begun training University of Queensland medical students who are on placement from Nambour General Hospital.Your doctor will ask for your consent prior to your appointment if a medical student is to be present.

 

 

Dr HindsAs of January 2012 Dr Nick Hinds joined the practice as part of the R.A.C.G.P Fellowship program. Nick is interested in all aspects of general practice including preventative health. He graduated from the University of Queensland in 2008 and spent most of his time training in Rural Queensland. He completed his residency at Nmabour General Hospital before embarking on a career in general Practice in 2011.

Nick married his wife, Courtney, in 2007. He tries to keep fit by cycling, running and swimming.

 

 

 

 

 

Former Registrars

2011

Dr HickeyOur most recent former GP trainee, who joined us in January 2011 was Dr Lin Hickey. Lin originally came from Malaysia and graduated from the University of Queensland in 2004. She has been working in the Royal Brisbane & Women's Hospital for the last 5 years. She started working in GP practice in January 2010 in Toowoomba. Lin is married with a baby daughter.

 

 

 

 

 

2010

Dr ReddishOur most recent former GP trainee, who joined us in January 2010, was Dr Bronwyn Reddish. Bronwyn graduated in 2004 from the University of Adelaide. She has worked at Flinders Medical Centre for 4 years before moving to Queensland in 2008. She married her husband Daniel in 2007 and commenced her first GP attachment at Murgon in 2009.

 

 

 

 

 

2009

Dr SaneOur trainee in 2009 was Dr Nwai Nwai Sane. Dr Sane qualified in Burma in 1981 and has worked in Myanmar, South Africa, Brisbane, Kingaroy, Noosa and Gympie before joining us for the last part of her GP training at Nambour Clinic. She already has run her own GP surgery in Myanmar between 1986 and 1996.

 

 

 

 

 

2008

Dr Mark ZischkeDr Mark Zischke joined us in January 2008 after graduating from the University of Queensland in 2001. He was based at Nambour Hospital in 2002 for his intern year then completed 3 years of contractual service under the Queensland Health Rural Scholarship Scheme. During this time he was based at Hervey Bay, Maryborough, Emerald and Kingaroy plus surrounding smaller regions from these. Before commencing General Practice training he also completed a further year at Redcliffe Emergency.

 

 

 

 

2007

Dr Edward Scott

Dr Edward Scott completed his GP training with the practice in 2007 and then accepted an invitation to join the practice full time.
