Appointments and After Hours care
Appointments System
Nambour, Woombye and Palmwoods
clinics all run an appointment system. We will ,however, fit in urgent
cases if there is a medical need according to priority. Sick
children will always be seen with a high priority.
You can make an appointment
with your doctor by telephoning any surgery. Appointments at
all clinics are made at 10
minutes intervals so you can normally expect to spend that long with
your doctor.
Please remember when making
your appointment to advise reception staff if you need extra time
which we then call a "long" appointment. Examples might
include insurance or employment medicals, procedures or
complex/multiple medical problems. Please ensure a separate
appointment is made for each family member wishing to be seen.
It is not always necessary to see
your doctor for an appointment. Our nurses are available for
warfarin tests (INR's), dressings, injections and other minor
procedures. Please notify the receptionist when making your
appointment.
Waiting Times
We do our best not to keep
people waiting. We are all aware of
this and try to adhere to appointment times. Despite our best
efforts we do recognize that doctors sometimes run behind time. This
is mostly due to a patient requiring urgent medical attention or
when we have to deal with complex or multiple medical problems. You
can help us by booking longer appointments if you feel extra time is
needed. We
regret any inconvenience caused to patients when we are behind with
our appointments.
Sickness certificates
Please note a certificate can only
be issued after an appointment with a doctor and can not be back
dated so please make an appointment.
