Child Health Clinic
Nambour Clinic runs a Child
Health and Immunisation Clinic on Wednesday from 9am until 5pm by
appointment only.
The service provides support to
mothers of newborns through to prep aged children. We give advice on
common concerns like breastfeeding, introducing solids, postnatal
depression, sleep and settling as well as assessing children by
weighing, measuring and checking development. The clinic also carries
out many of the routine childhood vaccinations. Referrals to other
agencies are also undertaken should they be required.
The Clinic is undertaken by
registered nurse Anita Agapow who has endorsements as a Midwife,
Immunisation Provider, Isolated Practice Nurse and also hold a
Graduate Certificate in Child and Family Health.
Anita’s nursing experience
includes Intensive Care/Coronary Care, Midwifery, Rural and Remote
and several years as a Flight Nurse with the RFDS after which she
worked in a large birth suite in Sydney for 2 years before having
her first child.
Now days she is mostly a stay at
home mother to two young children but has maintained an interest in
Child and Family Health through her work at the Nambour Clinic and
attendance at several midwifery, immunisation and child health
conferences throughout the year.
Anita is also a Justice of the
Peace (Qualified) and her other interests include cycling, swimming,
reading, camping. She also has a passion and active involvement in
her children’s school and kindergarten pursuits.
